 Diamond Abrasive;

Diamond is the hardest material. It could applied in grinding the Cemented Carbide, Glass, Ceramics, Fiber Glass, and Stone. High materials removal rates, longer wheel life versus conventional silicon carbide wheels. With the advantages of fast stock removal, cool cutting, excellent for dry off hand finishing of carbide tools, no wheel dressing required. Most durable under high grinding forces; Excellent for wet off had finishing of carbide tools.

CBN -Cubic Boron Nitride;

CBN, which is next to diamond in hardness has the following properties: CBN is more suitable element than diamond when grinding steel, intense heat is generated by the friction between the work-piece and grits on the grinding wheel during operation. CBN shows high heat resistance up to 1200 ℃ while Diamond is an inflammable element that begins to oxidize at about 600℃. Also CBN does not have a chemical to ferrous metals, whereas diamond is sensitive to ferrous metal as it contains. Easily cuts difficult to grind steel parts above HRC 50 or harder, such as High Speed tool steels, Die Steels , Hardened Carbon Steels, Alloy Steels , Aerospace Alloys, Hard Stainless steel, Abrasion-resistant ferrous materials.

Concentration of Diamond/CBN Grinding Wheel

The concentration refers to the percentage by weight of the grinding grit unit of volume of abrasive coating in the Diamond or CBN Grinding Wheels;

The effect of concentrations applied in Diamond and CBN Grinding Wheels:

The content of Diamond or CBN in the grinding rim is heavily dependent upon the application. Generally, where rapid stock-removal of tungsten carbide or hardened steel intended, a concentration of 75-125  is selected. When a good surface finish is demanded, lower concentration in combination with finer Diamond or CBN Powder are required.

Concentrations up to 150 are used for profile grinding wheels and cylindrical wheels which have a small contact area.
